Pay a traffic infringement notice or final demand

Infringement customer services are being transitioned from WA Police Force to the Department of Transport (DoT) in 2024. DoT thank you for your patience while they assist with your infringement query.

Police issue traffic infringement notices to individuals and companies. 

If you were the driver, you have 28 days from date of issue to pay the full amount:  

  • in person at any Australia Post location
  • by mailing a cheque or money order to:

  • online using Visa or Mastercard (you will need the reference number on the bottom left of your infringement notice):

Note: online payment is not available for on the spot, hand written police fines - payment details are on the notice.

Final demand

A final demand notice with additional costs is issued if you haven’t paid your original traffic infringement notice by the payment due date.

If the final demand is not paid within another 28 days, your infringement will be recorded by the Fines Enforcement Registry which will incur additional costs. Payment can be made:

  • in person at any Australia Post location
  • by mailing a cheque or money order to:

Not the driver at the time of the offence?

If you were not the driver of the vehicle or the vehicle was sold prior to the time of offence, you are responsible for nominating the correct person. 

You have 28 days from the issue date of the infringement notice to supply the details of the driver or person in charge.

Privately owned vehicles

Complete the statement Part ‘F' on the infringement notice with their full details (name, date of birth and current address) and include the original infringement notice.

Once received, police will issue a new infringement to the nominated driver.

Business owned vehicles

The responsible person for a business owned vehicle is required to provide the details of the driver in the notice requesting information form (PDF, 60KB).

Complete Division 1 ‘Driver or person in charge – known’, with their details (name, date of birth and current address) and include the original notice requesting information.

Complete Division 2 if the vehicle was stolen at the time of offence or Division 3 if the driver is unknown.
