This publication is a summary of the Local Government Officers (Western Australia) Award Summary. The Award can be viewed on the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission’s website

On 26 April 2025, casual pay rates for this award will increase because the award casual loading will increase to 25%. Visit Increase to casual pay rates for many WA awards for details.

A version of the WA award summary with the upcoming casual pay rates is available below to assist employers and employees prepare for this change. The pay rates in this version will not take effect until 26 April 2025.

All local government employers and employees are in the state industrial relations system.

Local government employers may have industrial (enterprise) agreements that provide pay and entitlements specific to their workforce. The Local Government Officers Award or parts of it, may not apply if employees are covered by an industrial agreement. Contact the Human Resources area of the local government for information on any relevant industrial agreement.
