Plan

Last updated:

The Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2025-26 supports the Public Sector Commission’s Workforce Diversification and Inclusion Strategy for WA Public Sector Employment 2020-2025 and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People: Action Plan to Improve WA Public Sector Employment Outcomes 2020-2025, and aligns with the Department’s Workforce Diversification and Inclusion Strategy and Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The Strategy acts as a roadmap to guide recruitment decisions, focus efforts on retention and development of our existing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce, increase cultural knowledge and capacity of all Department employees, and enhance the overall workplace experience and cultural wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

The Strategy includes an Action Plan which outlines initiatives and activities under two key focus areas: employment and retention.
