Tim Bray was appointed as Acting Deputy Director General – Coordinator of Energy on 22 March 2025 and leads Energy Policy WA, a group within the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. As Coordinator of Energy, Tim oversees energy policy and regulatory arrangements in Western Australia, as well as providing advice to the Minister for Energy on energy policy development and navigating the energy transition.
The Coordinator of Energy role is also the designated Hazard Management Agency for disruption to electricity, natural gas or liquid fuel supplies in Western Australia.
Tim's experience in the sector is extensive and spans both public and private. This includes policy, economic regulation, market design, network service provision, energy productivity and the evolving distributed energy space.
