New school in Alkimos officially named Shorehaven Primary School
- Shorehaven Primary School announced as the official name for new school in Perth's northern suburbs
- The $26.4 million facility will cater for students from kindergarten to Year 6
Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today revealed Shorehaven Primary School as the official name for the newest primary school located in Alkimos.
The local community was consulted on three potential names with Shorehaven Primary School being the popular choice.
The new school is currently under construction and is on track to open at the start of the 2022 school year.
When complete, the school will have permanent capacity for 650 students and will ease pressure on enrolments at surrounding primary schools in Perth's growing northern corridor.
The school is named after its location on Shorehaven Boulevard.
It is planned to be one of the bigger primary schools in Perth and will feature two double-storey teaching blocks among its buildings.
