‘Life in Pictures’ short film competition winners announced

Three short films that capture compelling views of seniors and ageing have been named as the winners of the 2024 Life in Pictures short film competition.

The competition encourages people to reflect on society's views of growing older and is a creative collaboration between the Department of Communities and Revelation Perth International Film Festival.

The filmmakers were honoured at the 2024 Revelation Perth International Film Festival closing event on Sunday 14 July 2024 and received prizes of $500 cash, a $100 Camera Electronic voucher and two 2025 REV Festival 2025 Gold Passes valued at $500.

Alex Lippiatt won the under 17 years category for their film titled ‘Lend a Hand’, which tells the story three generations of one family who cook together at the Vincent Community Kitchen.

Andrea Seno won the 18-59 years category with ‘Merilyn’, a film about budding actress Merilyn, 73 years of age, who recently started her acting career in the WA film industry.

In the 60-plus age category, Tanya Swift won the with her film ‘Elderhood’, which takes a positive outlook on the ageing process.
