
Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 38-year-old man following an investigation into the death of a 39-year-old woman in Derby on Sunday 20 April 2025.
About 7.45am, police and paramedics responded to a call at a residence on Fourth Street at the Mowanjum Aboriginal Community.
Upon arrival, emergency services located the 39-year-old woman unresponsive, and provided immediate first aid.
The woman was conveyed to Derby Hospital via paramedics, where she was later declared deceased.
It will be alleged earlier that morning; the woman had been assaulted by the man, who was known to her. Police believe the incident is family violence related.
The 38-year-old man was located at the scene and was arrested.
It will be further alleged, the man breached a 72-hour police order issued the day prior, and protective bail conditions.

• 1 x Breach of a Police Order
• 1 x Breach of Protective Bail Conditions
He is due to appear before the Derby Magistrates Court on Tuesday 22 April 2025.
