
These grants are delivered to support Western Australia’s startups and scaleups in the health and medical life sciences industry in developing and commercialising biomedical innovations.
Since 2022, the two grants have awarded more than $8 million across 176 IBG and CBG projects.
The Biomedical Industry IBG offers up to $40,000 to assist early-stage companies in accessing professional skills, services or knowledge to progress their innovative idea, project, or commercial activity in Western Australia.
Eligible recipients can receive up to $200,000 through the Biomedical Industry CBG. This grant can assist them in bridging the gap between a commercialised innovation and a sustainable, scalable business, creating more jobs for Western Australia.
Important: Applicants must be from the health and medical life sciences industry as described in the Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Strategy. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the relevant grant guidelines.
Applications for both grant programs close at 5:00pm (AWST), 22 May 2025.
